About This Piece

This rose motif was recreated from my grandmother's traditional carpet. I carefully redrew the original design and refreshed the colors to create a cleaner, more contemporary palette while preserving the character of the original folk motif.

Like many traditional Moldovan carpets, this piece features a black background that symbolizes fertile soil while allowing the vibrant floral composition to stand out. I wanted to recreate the distinctive look and warmth of traditional folk textiles in a piece that feels equally at home in a modern interior.

Each piece is stitched by hand on rug mesh canvas using acrylic yarn, creating a bold texture that celebrates the beauty of traditional craftsmanship.
